Well, we had a few days to spare in Brunei before catching our
flight to Jakarta ... on the 1st of August. What can we say ..
Brunei is not budget friendly and affordable accommodation for
couples is .. , non existant ... or at least was, until the guy
at the youth hostel told us on our last day, that the appartments
accross the YH could be rented for a mere BND30/day with all modcons
and tele included ! Instead, we had to stay in the scummy YH with
separate dorms and minging bathrooms for the friendly price of
BND10 per head !
Other than that, Brunei doesnt have much to offer except the few
mosques with real gold ! (Yes, its all real Sir), the empty amusement
park ( you never have to queue its fantastic) .. and eventually
the 6 star hotel .. called the Empire, a grand, marble and gold
plated building ... serving cucumber sandwitches and scones with
cream for High Tea ... !
